Stage One

Selected kiln-dried timber is delivered to Loddiswell from a range of trusted suppliers in the South West.

Stage Two

A job specific cutting list enables the machinist to cut and plane the chosen timber to the required dimensions.

Stage Three

Hand finishing the machined material with a scraper plane, ensures the finished product will show off the timberʼs natural qualities most effectively.

Stage Four

A hand burnished oil finish completes the process, and shows the table at its finest.

Glossary

Kiln Dried: Kiln drying reduces the moisture content of freshly sawn timber in a measured, controlled environment. The preferred moisture content for home
furniture is 8-12%.

Scraper Plane: A specialist tool with a high angle blade used for creating a fine surface on difficult areas of woodgrain.
